Fence Education Academy: Republic Day Celebration in University of Perpetual Medical College


IMPORTANCE OF REPUBLIC DAY
India became a free (Without Charge) Nation on 15th August 1947. It stated itself a Self governing, Sovereign, Democratic and Republic State with the approval of the Constitution on 26th January 1950.
Historic Birth:  
A Salute of 21 guns and Spreadout of Indian National Flag hosted by Dr. Rajendra Prasad . After that January 26 is renouned as the Republic Day of India and this day is announced as National Holiday.
“Let’s  Honor those who have made us proud, and celebrate the spirit of a free India”.

Republic day represented the true spirit of the Sovereign India. Military Person and their Equipments, Military Parades, and the National Flag are the most important sign of this day
Indian National Flag

Indian National Flag contains three colors and it also represented as Tiranga.  In top Saffron color and it represents “Courage and Selflessness”.  And its religiously significant color to the Hindu, Buddhist and Jain also. Then in the Middle Layer is While, basically White represented a symbol of piece, In Flag it signify as “Purity, Peace and Honesty” .It also mentioned as light and the path of the truth to guide Indian nation in the correct path. Finally third lower level color is Green. Green Color is in the bottom of the flag and it characterize as “Faith, Fertility and Prosperity”. This make obvious the value place on the earth as the ground upon which all life is dependent. Its also explain the festive and stabilizing color that mention life, happiness and to protect Indian land soli from enemies.  Circular symbol in the center of the flag is represent the “Ashoka Chakara” and this is the wheel of the dharma.

Pongal Day Celebration - Fence Education Academy




Every year Fence Education Academy celebrating Pongal Day Function. Like that this year it makes even more spectacular because the entire Fence team conduction games to the students in the University of Perpetual Medical College, Philippines. Conducting competitions such as Dance, Kabaddi etc, entire surrounding had fun and happy with each others.





Pongal Festival Celebration


Pongal is one of the most important harvest festival especially for Indian People and its also represented as Tamil Harvest Festival.



“As from Olden days people planting and harvesting the food and crops, those things are usually said to be Harvesting Festival”



Harvesting festival basically celebrated on January 14th or 15th , so these festival also called as Thai Pongal because its celebrate on Tamil Month “Thai” First Day in Tamil Calendar. The reason for celebrating Pongal is treated as a traditional Occasion to thank god for giving beautiful nature that give us grains, crops etc.

'Thai Pirandhaal Vazhi Pirakkum'

This is the Motive Quote followed by Tamil Peoples and they believe that family and other problems sure going to be solve with the arrival of Tamil Month “Thai” that starting on Pongal Festival.
These Pongal Festival always celebrated in the habit of four days, First days is “Bhogi” and the second one is “Thai-Pongal” and the third one is “Mattu-Pongal” and finally last day is mentioned as “Kannum Pongal”.



First day Bhogi is specially to respect lord “Indra”, the ultimate rule of Cloud that give us rain for abundance of harvest, thereby bringing plenty and prosperity to the land and move over unwanted or waste things from the house put into the fire to make the surrounding as new one.




On Second day Pongal Festival puja is made as boil the rice with milk in an outdoor earthenware pot and its symbolically offered to the God “Sun” and with other obligations. People wearing traditional dress. Major Point is a turmeric plant is tied over the rice boiled Pot and two sticks of Sugarcane in the background, Bananas and Coconut in the dishes too. Important thing a common point in these festival is Kolam, the favourable design which is traditionally traced in white lime powder before the house in the early morning after bathing. Without kolam the Pongal day is incomplete.





Third day is particularly for Cow and its mentioned as “Mattu Pongal”. Making some arrangements like different colored beads, sheaves of corns, tinkling bells and flower garlands are tied around the neck of the cattle and then are respected. They are fed with Pongal and taken to the village centers. The resounding of their bells attract the villagers as the young men race each other's cattle. The entire atmosphere becomes festive and full of fun and revelry. Arati is performed on them, so as to ward off the evil eye and taking place of “Jallikattu”




Fourth Day is called as Kannum pongal. Kannum it means “to see” , like get to gather. People meets relations, friends and neighbor to feast together. During this day turmeric leaf is washed and put on the entire ground to make us traditional. And its also mentioned as end of the Pongal festival for the year.



On the other side of all these days celebrations, Pongal is spiritual significance too. Because time period between the Middle month of December and January is consider the days of in-auspiciousness and the dawn (sunrise) of pongal is considered prosperous and wealthy. Therefore it indicates the dark days are disappear and the dawn of enlightenment.
