festival or Rural Festival and its specially celebrated on South India. Its one
of the most important and popular Hindu Festival because the major reason for
celebrating this is to thank Nature (Thanking Ceremony) and the date of
celebration is January 14 to 17.

a Dravidian festival, details of Pongal being celebrated are decorated in Tiruvallur
temple and in Andal's 'Tiruppavai' and Manickavachakar's 'Tiruvembava'

so its also mentioned as Makar Sankranti in some parts of the countries because

its celebrated across the World. Pongal is never seen as a regional festival,
its common for all Tamilians living in India. Christians, Muslims and Hindus
all are greet one another and happily enjoying the Pongal Celebration.
Reason
for Celebrating Pongal
People have been planting and gathering food
especially giving thanks to Nature takes its name from the Tamil word meaning “to
boil” during the season when rice and other cereals,
sugar-cane, and turmeric (an essential ingredient in Tamil cooking) are
harvested.
Here Students having lot of experience about Pongal day Celebration for the
last four years in University of Perpetual Help System Dalta organized by FENCE EDUCATION ACADEMY.
Students from India particularly in Tamil Nadu
